Hey everyone, it's Yan here, the founder of OOTD Tattoo. I want to take you on a journey – my journey with tattoos.

Growing up, tattoos weren't exactly the norm where I'm from. But when I turned 26, I felt this pull to express myself in a more permanent way. That's when I decided to take the plunge and get my first tattoo – a beautiful geometric dandelion on my upper back. It wasn't just about the design; it was about what it represented. Dandelions, they're these resilient little things that grow strong even in the most unexpected places. And I resonated with that a lot. I was absolutely in love with my tattoo.

But as time went on, I started feeling this uncertainty creep in. It wasn't about the tattoo itself – I still loved it to bits. It was more about how I felt showing it off, especially in more formal settings. And to make matters worse, the lines of my beloved tattoo started to blur over time. It was like watching a piece of myself fade away, and it hit me hard.

I knew I wanted more tattoos, but the thought of committing to something so permanent, especially when I was feeling unsure, was daunting. That's when I went on this quest to find an alternative. I scoured through Instagram and Pinterest, searching for options. But everything I found seemed to cater to people testing out permanent ink. What I wanted was something different – tattoos I could wear every day like an accessory. But the ones with good designs were way too pricey for everyday wear. 

That's when it hit me – what if there was a way to express myself without the lifelong commitment? And that's how OOTD Tattoo came to be. I wanted to create something different – tattoos that were more like nails, something you could switch up every 1-2 weeks. But it wasn't just about the tattoos; it was about the emotions behind them. It was about finding a way to express myself without feeling locked in, without losing that sense of self-expression that tattoos bring.
